The Addendum

Thursday, I sent the addendum for our home study to USCIS by FedEx. Now, I guess we just wait and hope nothing else is wrong. I really want to make our first trip in May or June, but I'm not sure that is going to happen.

We have had a lot of rain this past week, but it sure didn't stop the kids from playing outside.

When it wasn't raining, Bethany was trying to teach her brother's dog to read.

The Pink Letter!

Today I went to the mailbox and saw an envelope from USCIS. At first I was excited, but then as I looked in the window of the envelope, I noticed it was pink. Since I read a lot of the adoption blogs from Reece's Rainbow, I knew a pink letter was not a good letter. So I opened it and saw they needed more information on my daughter that just turned eighteen in February. I was hoping they would not ask for any of this. But, the good thing is, earlier in the day I had received an e-mail from our social worker saying that she had finished the addendum for Katie and all of her background checks had come in. She said she was dropping it in the mail today so we will have it by Friday. Then we'll just FedEx the  addendum  to USCIS and hopefully they will get back on it quickly.

As usual, I thought I'd post a few pictures.

Biometrics Done!

Yesterday we drove to Norfolk and had our fingerprints done for our I800A. Our appointment wasn't until the end of March, so we weren't sure if they would turn us away, or let us go ahead and get them done early. Success! We walked in at 11:30 AM, and we were back on the road again at 12:00 Noon. Now, we just wait for approval.

Other news for our family - - Our son, John, came home this weekend for a short visit before his deployment to Afghanistan. So, we all went to church together on Sunday. As I sat in church, I looked at all of our children and realized how blessed we truly are. It was a beautiful sight to see our adult children and our younger children all worshiping together.

After church, we went out for lunch and fellowship with friends and family. It was a wonderful day and we were so glad to get to see John before he leaves. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.
