Stable

Today my son, Joey, had an MRI done to check on his brain tumor. He has one done about every 4 months. The wonderful news is that the tumor is still stable! We always worry till he gets his results - which is always on the same day he gets the MRI. I thank everyone that prays for my son and ask that you will continue.

These two girls can brighten up a day. Both of them are always so happy.

Dedication

Today two of our grandsons were dedicated - Luke and Jakob. I always love it when my children do this with their kids.  It was a nice ceremony and Michael and Kasia managed to get both boys done today so Kasia's mom could be here for it. Her mom is here visiting from Poland and she is leaving sometime this week.

Finn

Look who came by to see me today - my grandson, Finn. It was so nice to have Meredith and the kids stop by for popsicles and bubbles. I love this time of year.

Ending Our School Year

Our school year is coming to an end soon and it has been a pretty good year. We have enjoyed so many good books and have gotten a lot done. This afternoon the kids did a little painting before going out to play. We have done a lot more art and projects this past year and I think we all enjoyed the change. Only a few weeks left of school.

Then this evening I took Bethany and Tess to Sonic for dinner. They had so much fun and it was their first time there. It was a beautiful evening and it was a really nice time together. Sometimes it is nice to spend time with just one or two children. I like to do that occasionally. They love it, too.

Friday Afternoon On The Porch

This afternoon the kids and I sat on the porch for a long time. They basically just talked and goofed off and ate popsicles - the first I have bought this year.  It was a nice afternoon and a great way to start the weekend and the weather was beautiful.

Change of Weather

The temperature suddenly dropped here the past couple of days and strangely Bethany and Tess said it was too cold to play outside today - though they played outside all winter. I mean it was 59 or 60 degrees - not 30. Anyway, while the other kids played outside they brought their sewing machines down to the kitchen and sewed all afternoon. It was a nice afternoon and I enjoyed their company.

Moments To Remember

I will always remember how Bethany sits at the window in the family room in the mornings and watches the squirrels eat on the deck. She does this before she even eats her breakfast. I wonder how long she will do this? I hope for a long, long time.

Rain

This afternoon the kids were ready to take a break from school and go out and play, but it started to rain. They sat on the porch waiting for it to stop and it didn't. I could hear them running and playing and then I realized they were all out in the rain. They were running and screaming and playing - even filling buckets with rain water and pouring it on each other. They were having so much fun I had to get a few pictures.

It wasn't long before Bella was tired of the rain and was cold and not so happy anymore.

They went in one by one and got in a warm bath - Bella was first and it took no time at all for her to warm up and smile again. She got her jammies on and rested on the sofa with Bethany's doll blanket.

I know I said I was going to post some recital pictures and have not. I think I'm not as anxious this year as I had a terrible seat - a man sat in front of me and his head was in the way of most of my pictures. I could only get pictures of one side of the stage and it was very frustrating so I took a lot fewer pictures than usual. I still may post a few, but today I just wanted to document the blast the kids had in the rain.

Miracles In Motion - Recital

Sunday was dance recital day for our girls that dance with Miracles In Motion. They were so excited and have talked of nothing else for days and days. I haven't gone through all my pictures yet, but I took these two of Bella when we first got to the school. She was getting her hair and makeup done.

I will try to go through the pictures and post a few of the dancers in the next few days. It was a wonderful recital and everyone did so well.

What We Are Reading

We finally read All-of-a-Kind Family by Sydney Taylor in April. It was a book I had not read to the kids in ages. Actually, most of the kids had never heard it at all. They all enjoyed it and now we have to find a new book to start tomorrow. We have had some suggestions so I guess tomorrow we will decide. We read quite a lot in April, as usual, but I did not use the Mark-My-Time. I think this month I will start back up as the kids do like to see how many hours we read and I do, also.
