Baby Dedication

On Sunday morning, my granddaughter was dedicated. Reagan wore the same dress that her mother (my oldest daughter) wore thirty years ago in the same church being dedicated. Reagan looked beautiful and so did her mom.

After the ceremony, we met at our house and had a cookout with family and friends. I think Reagan looks so funny in this next picture  -- her huge surprised eyes.

For some reason, I just love these pictures of Reagan on my bed. They are some of my favorites.

Aunt Emily holding Reagan up in my bedroom after Reagan took a short dinner break.

We love you Reagan  -- our very first grandchild.

More Williamsburg Pictures

Thought I would post a few more pictures from our trip to Colonial Williamsburg.

The girls found this really great tree to climb in and I sat for probably 30 minutes while they played around in it.

This squirrel would come right up to us -- almost up to our feet. He didn't seem scared at all. I guess he is used to lots of people feeding him. We gave him a sugar cookie that we bought at the bakery.

Then he ran up  into the tree where Zola was climbing -- squirrel on the left and Zola on the right -- I thought it was kind of cute.

This Santa rode by on a bike. I have no idea why he was riding around on a bike in May, but he stopped and talked to the girls. He said he was on vacation from the North Pole.

Day Trip to Williamsburg

Yesterday, Emily, Abigail, Sarah, Zola, Caroline and I went to Colonial Williamsburg for the day. We mainly walked around the streets and went in a few stores. The part of Williamsburg that I like best is walking around all the gardens and looking at all the fences with flowers and the courtyards. I love to just sit in the courtyards and dream of having a beautiful yard or garden like so many of the homes in Colonial Williamsburg have. It is so peaceful and calming to me when I sit in the courtyards and gardens -- even with people walking around looking at everything.

We had lunch at the Cheese Shop and ice cream at Baskin Robbins -- I think Sarah's favorite part of the day. I usually take lots of pictures when we go. Yesterday I think I took mostly pictures of things -- gardens, fences, baskets, hats, soap and all the stuff in the stores -- very few pictures of the kids. There are just so many interesting and beautiful things to take pictures of there -- and since I love taking pictures and beautiful homes and gardens it is one of my favorite places.

A few pictures.

The Farmer's Market and Victorian Day

Saturday we went to the farmer's market and then to Victorian Day  -- a small celebration at a local church for our community. It was nice to go back to the farmer's market -- the first time for us this spring. We enjoyed the day very much.

We had to park and walk a little ways to the Victorian Day celebration and we passed this house. I just thought it was so pretty and took this picture of the side of the house and the yard. There were so many beautiful Victorian homes in the area.

The celebration was small with a few vendors -- ice cream, drinks, food, quilts, and music, etc.
