Pumpkin Carving

I had planned to do a blog post on our annual pumpkin carving, but time keeps going by and we have been so busy that I just got around to looking at the pictures tonight and actually didn't even look at but maybe a little over half of them. So, I have decided to just post pictures and let it go at that. Everyone had fun and my son Joey said it was the best pumpkin carving I have ever had so I think it must have been a success.

The Fairy House

Today I was at A. C. Moore with my oldest daughter and we saw this really cute Winter Fairy House. My girls love to make fairy houses and when I saw it I immediately thought of them. The best thing was that it was on sale for only $10. At that price I had to get it. It was a real hit and pretty cute. It is nothing like the houses they usually make with sticks and grass and bark, etc., but very cute. It was quick and easy to make and a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon.

This picture has nothing to do with the fairy house, but I took it last night as Bethany worked on her loom. There is something about watching my kids make things that gives me a thrill. I sat watching her and it made me so happy to see her so engrossed in her project. These are the moments I will always remember.

Sewing Class

Today was sewing class for Bethany and Tess. This time they made something rather unusual - a pumpkin. I don't think I have even seen any like these before, and I think they are rather cute. Both girls are happy with theirs and said they will put them out to decorate for our pumpkin carving that we are having on Sunday.

Clove Apples

Yesterday, the kids made clove apples. We put the cloves in a bunch of cinnamon first so they would smell extra good -- and it worked. Everyone had so much fun making these and now my kitchen smells nice. I love fall.
