Today was somewhat of a flop when it came to our "special thing". I have a house full of sick kids so making something or going anywhere was out of the question. The best I could do was read several chapters of The Christmas Doll by Elvira Woodruff. It is a favorite of ours and I truly love reading this book to the kids and today seemed like the perfect day to read -- though we read almost everyday anyway. So I read about two little orphan sisters that only have each other to rely on and the hardships they endure and they joy that unexpectly comes to them. It is a wonderful Christmas book.
My grandson, William, stood and watched this for several minutes without even touching.
